EU Sustainable Mobility #3

#EUSustainableMobility is a project, launched in 2020 by Engaging Society (ES4S) in collaboration with Eurail, composed of a series of campaigns based around urban mobility and tourism-related travel, where ES4S invites young people to contribute to the conversation by responding to a survey with perceptions of their habits, beliefs, and intentions in order to foster a more sustainable behaviour at the global level.

The 3rd Campaign, which ran from February to early May 2022, gathered the main understandings of the future of sustainable mobility and how young Europeans think about the mobility of their own city. This campaign collected information from people living in Slovenia, Sweden, Greece as well as Romania.

WHAT IS #EUSUSTAINABLEMOBILITY

Mobility is an important part of our day to day lives and yet the global pandemic, which we still face today, has brought to light the vulnerability of a system previously taken for granted. Alongside this health crisis, is another crisis significantly impacted by mobility: climate change. In the EU, the current mobility mix contributes to 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions, a major driver of our warming planet and the associated environmental and social problems. Therefore, we take this opportunity to pause for a moment and reflect on the future of mobility, in the context of both Covid-19 and climate change.

Huge congratulations to the winners of the 3rd campaign and thank you for sharing your creative ideas!
